How to use Saved for Facebook Marketplace price drops

Save Facebook Marketplace listings to follow their price. Set a target, compare with the usual price, and get an alert when the seller cuts.

Use Price watch when you already care about a specific Facebook Marketplace listing and need Crawlbench to re-check its ask on a schedule. A drop, or a hit on your target, sends a price-cut alert on your usual channels. You still message the seller on Facebook.

A monitor finds new listings that pass your buy box. Watchlist parks a match for later and does not change how often that listing is checked. Price watch is the list that is checked on purpose.

Add a listing

Add a listing by pasting its Facebook Marketplace URL on Price watch, or by choosing Watch price on a match card or in the listing drawer.

A pasted URL that this desk has never seen shows up as a placeholder card right away while Crawlbench fetches the listing from Marketplace in the background. If Facebook flaps, we retry a few times. If the listing is gone, we remove the placeholder and tell you it is not available. If reachability keeps failing, the card offers Retry (or stop to free the slot). Watch price on a match skips that step because the listing is already on the desk.

Watch listings you would buy at a number:

  1. A match that is clean but still over your walk-away
  2. A listing you found on Facebook that no monitor would match
  3. A seller who already said "not yet" to a fair offer

Do not watch miracle prices. A $4,000 truck next to a $19,000 band is usually salvage, parts, or a scam. Verify first.

The list is shared across the desk. Owner, Admin, and Member can add, mute, retarget, stop, and bulk-act. Caps and check cadence follow the owning account's plan.

Read the movement track and comps

When a target or cohort median is present, the movement track is a price ruler (cheaper left, dearer right): white dot at today's ask, fill from the ask when you added the row to today (none when unchanged), green target tick, and grey median hairline. With neither, the card shows a single line: added at that ask · no target set.

The median is an asking-price comp, not a sold result and not a KBB replacement. The same under / flat / over / verify language shows up on match cards and Market Snapshot. Verify means the discount is implausibly deep. Do not treat it as a win. Dot left of the median hairline means the same thing as a negative (under market) price chip.

For the longer deal-craft version, see how to watch listing prices for drops.

Set a target

Set a target below today's ask, at the all-in number that makes you move. Leave it blank if any drop is enough. Target hit means the current ask is at or below that number.

Changing a target does not spend a check. Bulk Set target applies one number only when every selected row shares the same currency.

Use the lanes

Use the lanes as a queue:

  • Moved down: today's ask is below the ask when you added the row. Re-check photos and title language, then message while the cut is still news.
  • Target hit: the ask reached your number. Go.
  • Raised: they went up. Usually walk.
  • Flat: no change. Leave it.

Mute a row when you still want the check but not the ping. Stop a row when the thesis is dead. A watch ends when the listing sells, leaves Marketplace, you stop it, or the 60-day window runs out. Selling or leaving Marketplace sends one notice.

How price-cut alerts work

A price-cut alert fires when a listing you care about lowers its ask. Two things put a listing in scope: any match on one of your monitors, and any row on Price watch.

Matched listings are only re-priced when a monitor's next scan happens to see them again. Price watch re-checks on purpose. A listing that is both matched and watched still only alerts once. Unlike new-match alerts, price-cut alerts are not limited to the monitor recency window.

Alerts fan out on email, Telegram, Slack, and Discord to every membership with that channel on. Mute on the row, or Quiet on the desk, still wins. Setup lives in alert channels.

Cadence and caps

A watched listing is re-checked on your plan's Price watch cadence, not in real time. Starter and Day Pass check about every 30 minutes. Growth is about 20. Pro is about 15. Scale is about 10.

A listing whose ask has not moved in a week drops to a slower check. You can still run Check now before you drive or send a second message.

Caps: Day Pass 5, Starter 15, Growth 25, Pro 48, Scale 200, pooled across the teams you own. Details sit on pricing and plan value.
