How Crawlbench search and alert timing actually work
A new search is checked at once, busy cities are checked as often as your plan says, and alerts cover new listings.
How often busy cities are checked depends on your plan, and Pricing lists it for every plan. A new listing reaches you after a check finds it. That is checking on a schedule, not a live Facebook ticker.
What a search is
A search is a saved description of what you want: the category, the places, the filters, and where alerts go. Crawlbench checks Facebook Marketplace for listings that fit and keeps the ones that pass on Home.
Facebook's own saved searches and notification timing vary by account and day. Crawlbench does not claim Facebook's timing. It runs its own checks and filters.
First check and steady state
A new search is checked at once, more deeply than the checks after it. The first check often fills Home with listings already on Marketplace. Alerts stay quiet for older listings, so your channels carry only fresh ones. See create your first search for the step-by-step.
Is it working?
The sidebar shows how many searches are on and when the last check ran. A quiet search whose checks are landing is a quiet market, not a fault. Flat or low numbers can simply mean few new listings.

Plan cards and the compare table on Pricing list how often busy cities are checked. Searches, people and speed are what change between plans.
Practical rules
- Turn on one tight search before you widen the places
- Treat alerts as results of checks, not a live ticker
- Expect a first fill on day one, then a quieter trickle of new listings
