How to send Facebook Marketplace deals to Slack or Discord

Paste a Slack or Discord incoming webhook into Crawlbench Alerts, keep email as a digest, and leave Telegram for phone interrupts.

To get Facebook Marketplace Slack alerts, run a search with tight filters, create a Slack incoming webhook for the channel your team already reads, paste that URL on Crawlbench Alerts, and turn Slack on for the searches that should interrupt the team. Discord uses the same incoming-webhook pattern. Email stays a slower digest. Telegram stays the phone channel.

Facebook does not offer a reliable shared feed. Saved-search notifications land (when they land) on one account, at a timing Facebook does not publish an SLA for. A sourcing team that already lives in Slack or Discord needs the listing to show up where people already triage work.

This is not a Telegram setup guide. If the job is a pocket buzz on a solo flip, use Telegram alerts and the Telegram vs email tradeoffs. Use Slack or Discord when more than one person should see the same listing without forwarding screenshots.

Which channel should get Marketplace listings?

Slack should get Marketplace listings when a shared team already decides deals in Slack. Discord should get them when the flip group already lives in Discord. Email should get a digest when you want a review trail, not an interrupt. Telegram should get the phone lane.

Pick by where a human will open the listing and message the seller on Facebook. Crawlbench does not send the seller message for you.

A useful split looks like this:

  • Slack: one #deals or #vehicles channel, muted everywhere except deal hours
  • Discord: one dedicated deals channel, not the social chat
  • Email: a digest for the person who reviews leftovers at a keyboard
  • Telegram: the operator who will message from a phone

Do not turn every channel on for a noisy search. You will mute Slack and then miss the one Civic that was actually cheap.

What Slack and Discord actually deliver

Slack and Discord get a post for each listing that passes your filters, on your plan's check, in every city on the search.

New outbound alerts only fire for listings whose Facebook post time is in the last three hours. Older baseline inventory still appears in your listings so a new search does not flood the channel. Price-cut alerts on listings you already have are not limited by that window.

Each post includes a listing deep-link. You still open Facebook Marketplace in your own session to message. There is no auto-DM.

The pass/fail gate decides which listings get a post. Pricing covers plan access and how often each plan checks busy cities. Slack and Discord are built-in channels on paid plans, not a Zapier hop. Use Zapier only when the next stop is Sheets, a CRM, or a tool Crawlbench does not post to natively. Outbound JSON webhooks are a Pro and Scale extra.

Prerequisites

You need four things before you paste a webhook:

  • A Crawlbench team with at least one search you would pay attention to
  • Permission to add an incoming webhook in the Slack workspace or Discord server
  • A dedicated deals channel, not #general
  • Filters tight enough that a teammate will not mute the channel by Friday

If the search still dumps salvage titles, "call for price" posts, and parts cars, fix the filters first. Delivery cannot save a sloppy search.

Step 1: Create a Slack incoming webhook

Create a Slack incoming webhook from Slack, then treat the URL like a password.

  1. In Slack, open the incoming webhooks integration for your workspace (Slack App Directory: Incoming Webhooks)
  2. Choose the channel that should receive deals
  3. Copy the webhook URL (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/)
  4. Do not paste that URL in a public doc, a screenshot, or a group chat you do not control

If the URL leaks, revoke it in Slack and mint a new one. Anyone who has it can post into that channel.

Step 2: Create a Discord incoming webhook (optional)

Create a Discord incoming webhook on the deals channel if the group already works in Discord instead of Slack. Most teams pick one shared chat, not both.

  1. Open the Discord server, then Channel settings → Integrations → Webhooks
  2. Create a webhook, name it something obvious (Marketplace deals), and point it at the deals channel
  3. Copy the webhook URL
  4. Keep it private the same way you would keep a Slack URL private

Two team channels for the same noisy search trains everyone to ignore both.

Step 3: Paste the URL on Crawlbench Alerts

Paste the webhook on Alerts so the team can turn Slack or Discord on.

  1. Open Alerts in the team
  2. Find Slack or Discord
  3. Paste the incoming webhook URL and save
  4. Turn the channel on for your membership
  5. On the search, inherit the default or override the channel if only some lanes should post

Alert prefs are per person. A teammate who does not want Slack can leave it off. You can turn one search off, or turn Slack off for the team.

Email does not need a webhook. It already digests to the account email.

Prove delivery with one search you already trust, then widen.

A concrete first test: a 2016–2019 Toyota Tacoma, one metro plus a short backup city list, a price cap you already use by hand, and exclusions for "salvage", "parts", and "rebuilt". Activate it. Wait for a fresh listing that passes (posted in the last three hours), then confirm the Slack or Discord post and the Marketplace deep-link.

If nothing arrives:

  • Confirm the webhook still points at the channel you are checking
  • Confirm Slack or Discord is on for you, and the search is on
  • Confirm you are not waiting on baseline inventory from an old listing

Crawlbench posts on your plan's check when a fresh listing passes your filters, in every city on the search, so a quiet channel points to one of the checks above.

How to keep a shared channel honest

Keep a shared channel honest by giving it one job.

  • One deals channel per team, not one channel per search
  • Name the search in your own head by what it buys (Tacoma Dallas, not "cars")
  • Turn off a lane that goes junk instead of turning Slack off globally
  • Leave Telegram for the person who messages from a phone
  • Leave email on as the backup digest if someone reviews at a laptop later

A 10-person Discord with memes and deal pings in the same room will fail. Split social chat from sourcing.

Closing

Slack and Discord put your listings where your team already works. Paste one incoming webhook, keep filters tight, and send only the searches that deserve a shared interrupt. Use Telegram when the next action is a phone message, and email when the next action is a reviewed inbox.
