Pick what the channel is for
A Facebook Marketplace deals channel works when members know what they will get from it. Pick one theme before you set anything up: a category (cars, furniture, electronics), a city or region, or a budget ("cars under $5,000").
A narrow theme keeps the posts useful. A channel that posts every couch in America teaches people to mute it. A channel that posts mid-century furniture in Dallas under the usual price gets read.
Good themes we see work:
- One category, one metro. "Used trucks in Phoenix."
- A flipping niche. Brand-name furniture, game consoles, tools.
- A price band. First cars under $5,000, rentals under $1,500 a month.
- A rotating tour. One city a day, so members across the country each get their turn.
Set up the searches behind it
The channel posts what your searches find, so the searches are the real editorial work. Write one search per theme, with filters tight enough that every post is worth a look.
- Start with the place and radius your members can actually drive to.
- Add a price range. Leave a little room above your target, because the price word (Great, Good, Fair or High price) already flags what is under the usual price.
- Add the words that define the theme, such as a brand or model, and the words to leave out (parts, wanted, rental).
- Use a year floor for vehicles. Price caps alone let in listings where a seller typed $8,000 as $800.
- Turn the search on and read its first results on Home before you connect the channel. If you would skip half of them, tighten the filters first.
If your alerts are noisy, tighten the search before the channel goes public. Members forgive a quiet day. They don't forgive junk.
Connect the channel and tick Public channel
Connect the channel as a team alert channel, then tick Public channel in the same dialog. Every team search then posts its new listings there, written for strangers instead of for your team.
Discord
- In Discord, open the channel's settings, then Integrations, Webhooks, New Webhook, and copy the webhook URL.
- In Crawlbench, open Alerts and press Connect on Discord.
- Paste the link, name the channel, tick Public channel and connect. Crawlbench sends a test post first and saves nothing if it fails.
Telegram
- Connect your own Telegram on the Alerts page first.
- Add @CrawlbenchAlertsBot to your channel as an admin, or to your group as a member.
- Under the Telegram channel row, press Connect and enter the channel's @name, t.me link or chat id. Only an admin of that channel or group can connect it.
- Tick Public channel and connect. The test post arrives before anything is saved.
Slack works like Discord, with a Slack incoming webhook. Step by step guides for each app: Discord, Telegram and Slack.
Already connected? Use Change in the channel's Manage menu to turn Public channel on or off.
What does a public deal post look like?
A public post carries the same facts as a private alert, minus anything about your account. Each post lists up to 5 new listings, best deals first:
- The price word and title, such as "Great price: 2014 Honda Civic LX", linked to the listing on Marketplace.
- The price, how it compares to similar listings, and the place.
- "And N more." when a check found more than 5.
What it leaves out: your search names, your team name, and any Crawlbench link. On Discord the post ends with one "Open the best listing" link. Members open the listing on Marketplace and message the seller from their own account.
The price word compares asking prices, not sold prices, so tell members to read a Great price as "look first", not as a promise.
How do you keep a deals channel worth joining?
A deals channel lives or dies on trust. A few habits keep it:
- Make the channel read-only and give members a separate chat channel for questions and wins. Deals stay easy to scan.
- Pin a short post that says what the channel covers, where, and that every link goes straight to Marketplace.
- Say plainly that listings sell fast and that nobody in the channel holds them.
- Review the searches weekly. If members keep asking "why was this posted?", the filters need work, not the members.
- Never fake activity. No bought members, no made-up wins. People join deal groups because they are tired of noise.
On speed: Busy cities are checked every minute on Scale, every 2 minutes on Pro, every 5 on Growth and every 10 on Starter. See pricing for each plan.
Discord, Telegram or Slack: which fits?
Pick the app your members already open every day. A deals channel in an app they never check is a channel nobody reads.

How we run our own deals channel
Our own Discord server has a read-only #live-deals channel, fed by four searches: cars, furniture, electronics and real estate. Each day they move to one big US city (Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix or Atlanta), so the channel stays varied without posting from everywhere at once. Members talk about the deals in separate channels for price checks and flip wins.
You're welcome to see how it reads on the Crawlbench Discord.
Start your channel today
You need a theme, a few tight searches and one alert channel with Public channel ticked. Crawlbench checks Facebook Marketplace, its one live marketplace, and is not affiliated with Meta. To try it in your own channel, start a free Day Pass, or read how teams split shared and personal alerts in how to run a sourcing desk.
Questions
- Can a Telegram channel get Facebook Marketplace deals automatically?
- Yes. Facebook does not post to Telegram, so you need a tool that checks Marketplace for you. In Crawlbench, add @CrawlbenchAlertsBot to your channel as an admin (or to a group as a member), then connect the channel on the Alerts page by its @name, t.me link or chat id. Only an admin of the channel can connect it.
- Does a public deal post show my search names?
- No. With Public channel on, a post leaves out search names, team names and Crawlbench links. It keeps the price word, the title, the price, how it compares to similar listings and the place, and each link opens the listing on Marketplace.
- How many listings does one post carry?
- Up to 5 new listings, best deals first. When a check finds more, the post ends with a line such as "And 3 more." so the channel never fills with one long wall of listings.
- Do I need to host a bot for a Discord deals channel?
- No. A Discord channel webhook is enough. You create it in the channel's settings under Integrations, paste it into Crawlbench, and Crawlbench sends a test post before it saves anything.
- How do members contact the seller?
- Each link opens the listing on Facebook Marketplace, so members message the seller from their own Facebook account. Crawlbench never messages sellers and never asks for anyone's Facebook login.
