How to search Facebook Marketplace nationwide (and across a whole country)

Facebook Marketplace has no nationwide search. It shows one location and radius at a time, so a nationwide search means repeating it city by city, using the Shipping filter for items that ship, or using a tool that covers many cities at once. Crawlbench searches any cities in one country from a single search.

You found the exact car, camera or sofa you want, but it is three states away, and Facebook keeps showing you listings within 40 miles. Facebook Marketplace nationwide search is one of the most-asked Marketplace questions because the app does not offer it. This guide covers what does work: the manual method, the Shipping filter, free multi-city sites, and one search across a whole country.

No. Facebook Marketplace searches one location and one radius at a time. As Outpost Alerts puts it, "There is no nationwide search box. There is one location at a time, repeated."

One location and radius at a time

Every Marketplace search is tied to the location you set and a radius around it. Widen the radius and you still get one circle, not a country. The radius also does not always hold, which we cover in why the Facebook Marketplace radius is not working. So any nationwide method is really a way to repeat one search across many locations.

How do you search Marketplace city by city?

Change your Marketplace location to each city you care about, run the same search, and save it. It is free and works for anything, but it takes time for every city on every check.

Bookmark a search per city

  1. Open Marketplace and set your location to the first city, with the radius you would actually drive.
  2. Search the item with your price range and filters.
  3. Save the search, or bookmark the results page in your browser.
  4. Repeat for each city.
  5. Open each saved search on a schedule and read the new listings.

Keep the list short. Five metros you would really drive to beat twenty you never visit. Our post on monitoring multiple cities without twenty open tabs covers how buyers pick that list.

The Shipping filter

For items that ship, such as phones, cameras, cards and small electronics, set the delivery method filter to Shipping. Marketplace then shows listings from sellers willing to post, which is the nearest thing to a nationwide view. SuperFlip's nationwide search guide (page dated 22 Aug 2026) lists it alongside re-pointing your location as the free workarounds. It does not help with cars, furniture or anything sold for local pickup only.

Do free multi-city search sites work?

Partly. Free multi-city sites save typing, but most still leave you reading every city yourself.

What they actually do

Most free "nationwide Marketplace search" sites take your query and open Facebook's own results for a list of cities, often in separate tabs or frames. They do not hold a search running in the background, they do not alert you when something new appears, and they inherit Facebook's radius and sorting. They are useful for a one-off look at what an item costs elsewhere, not for catching new listings across a country.

Method Cost Covers Alerts on new listings Best for
City-by-city saved searches Free Each city you add Facebook's own, per saved search A few metros
Shipping filter Free Sellers who ship Facebook's own Small items that post
Free multi-city sites Free The cities on their list No A one-off price look
Crawlbench search Free Day Pass, then paid plans Any cities in one country Yes, with a price check on each Ongoing buying across a country

Crawlbench lets one search cover any cities you pick in one country, or every city it covers in that country. You set the search once, and each matching listing arrives as an alert with its price check.

In a Crawlbench search, the Where part has three settings, as Crawlbench's cities guide describes:

  1. Country: pick one. The currency and distance unit follow it.
  2. Cities: add each city as a chip, or tick Anywhere in the country to search every covered city there.
  3. Within: how far from each city a listing may be. Crawlbench checks the distance itself, and a listing outside it is held back with the reason "Outside your area".

Tick Anywhere in the country only when the search is tight: one make and model, a price cap and words left out. A vague search across a whole country fills your feed with listings you will never collect.

52 countries, 3,500+ cities, local currency

Crawlbench covers Facebook Marketplace in 52 countries and more than 3,500 cities, 209 of them in the United States, with prices in local currency. It is one country per search, not worldwide. The full list is on the marketplaces page. Facebook Marketplace is the only live marketplace today. Crawlbench is not affiliated with Meta.

Each listing also gets one price word, Great, Good, Fair or High price, comparing its ask with similar listings nearby. That matters more on a nationwide search, because the same item asks different prices in different metros.

What changes when you buy far away?

The listing price is only part of the cost. Travel, collection and paperwork can erase the saving, so price them before you message the seller.

Travel, collection and registration

  • Travel: fuel, a flight or a train, and possibly a night away. "A car that is $1,500 under market is not a bargain if collecting it costs $900 and two days off" (Outpost Alerts, page dated 3 Oct 2026).
  • Collection: confirm the item is still there the day before you travel, and agree the price in writing in Messenger first.
  • Registration and tax: for vehicles bought in another state, check the title transfer, sales tax and inspection rules in the state where you will register it.
  • Shipping risk: for posted items, pay with a method that offers buyer protection, and never pay a deposit to hold an item you have not seen.

The takeaway

Facebook Marketplace has no nationwide search. Repeat the search city by city for a few metros, use the Shipping filter for small items, and use a multi-city tool when you are buying across a country regularly.

Questions

Can you search Facebook Marketplace nationwide?
No. Facebook Marketplace searches one location and one radius at a time, and its largest radius does not cover a whole country. To search nationwide you repeat the search for each city, filter for items that ship, or use a tool that watches many cities from one search.
How do I see Marketplace listings from other states?
Change your Marketplace location to a city in the other state, set the radius, and run the search again. Save one search per city if you check regularly. For items that can be posted, the Shipping delivery filter shows listings from sellers outside your area.
Is there a free nationwide Marketplace search?
Not from Facebook. Some free multi-city sites open the same search for several cities in separate tabs, which saves typing but still leaves you reading every tab. Crawlbench's Day Pass is free for 24 hours with no card and covers any cities in one country in one search.
Which countries does Crawlbench cover?
Crawlbench covers Facebook Marketplace in 52 countries and more than 3,500 cities, including 209 cities in the United States, with prices in local currency. Each search covers any cities in one country, or every covered city in that country.
